How does a SEPA direct debit work?
The member gives permission once: the mandate. It holds their IBAN, a mandate reference and the signature date. After that you collect every term without the member doing anything.
A member can reverse a debit up to 8 weeks after it was taken, without giving a reason. That is the member's right, not a mistake in your records.
What does a direct debit cost?
With Mollie you pay €0.35 per successful debit, without a subscription. A first payment with iDEAL (which sets up a mandate right away) costs €0.32. Hiigym adds nothing on top: you pay Mollie directly.
What if a debit fails?
The usual reasons: not enough balance, a closed account or a reversal. What works: a quick, friendly nudge with a payment link.
Hiigym sends an email and a push notification with an iDEAL link on day 3 and day 7. After 14 days the invoice is overdue and shows in your list. See the payment and direct debit features.
Switching without new signatures
When you change software, your members do not need to sign again. With the IBAN, the old mandate reference and the signature date, Mollie creates the mandate again. If that data is missing, the member pays once with iDEAL in the app and the new mandate is set right away.
The money in your own account
With Hiigym you connect your own Mollie account. Every debit goes from the member through Mollie to your bank. Hiigym has no access to your money; Mollie invoices you directly for the transaction fees.
Switched within 14 days or 3 months free. Your members sign nothing.
